China Wuqiao International Circus Festival (CWICF), a topmost competitive event in world acrobatic circle, and a national level brand of artistic event.

China Wuqiao International Circus Festival, established in 1987, is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Hebei Provincial Government. It is held every odd year in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province and has been successfully held 16 times. It is a state-level international artistic competition and a festival event with the longest history, the largest scale，the highest profile and the most far-reaching influence in Chinese acrobatic field. Activities such as international acrobatic competition, welfare performance, International Circus Carnival, Community Performance, International Circus Forum, Internatioanl Acrobatics Trade Fair and etc., are organized during the Festival. Since the establishment, there have been more than 600 acts from over 50 countries or regions participated in the Festival. These acts reflect the leading level, represent the latest achievement and direct the development of international acrobatics. With the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo and the Festival Mondial Du Cirque De Demain, CWICF is considered to be one of the three most famous festivals, and is given high reputations by the world circus field and named the Oriental Grand Acrobatic Competitive Arena.

CWICF has been paid much attention on and given full recognition and high remarks by the Party and state leaders. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has included the Festival on its list as a major international cultural festival brand which will be cultivated and established with priority on, and praises it as a significant international stage which integrates powers from both central and local governments and a good example which pushes Chinses culture forward to the world and publicizes China in the world.

For more than 30 years, CWICF continually improves its internaitonal and domestic position and influence, and frequently receives important festival awards at home and abroad. It has successively received awards such as Top Ten Chinese Festivals with the Most Significant International Influence, Best Festival of International Cultural Exchange, Most Popular 30 Festivals in 30 years of Reform and Opening-up, “Festival China” Festival Achievement Award and “Five Ones” Project Award of Hebei Cultural Development and etc..
